The Magnificent Foshay Tower

If an overview of downtown Minneapolis is what you are looking for, then there is no better place in the whole of downtown Minneapolis to head to but the Foshay Tower. Although after some major renovation and reconstruction to the building it has now been named W Minneapolis, many visitors, including some of our Minneapolis bus charter customers, continue to refer to this lovely landmark by its old name...some names are just meant to stay. Maybe some generations and decades later, the new name would stick. 

At one time, Foshay Tower remains to be the only looming skyscraper in Minneapolis, a lonesome sight that it gave off. Foshay Tower was, unbeknownst to most people, modeled after the Washington Monument. The tower was initially designed and completed in 1929 and measures right up to more than four hundred and forty seven feet high and this is without counting the antenna which extends the height of the tower right up to more than six hundred feet above the ground. Make no mistake about it but the tower has been listed as one of the most treasured landmark of the country in the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

As he lived and went on to make an incredible amount of money from his investments and work at the three utility empires that he built over his lifetime, Foshay Tower, a landmark named after him, remains close to his heart.
